"You Know Your a Utahn If...."

...your a stay at home Mom & drive a white Escalade...& so do all of your neighbors!

...you wear the "Bump It" look without even having to use an actual Bump It!

...when you use the terminalogy "F.H.E", "C.T.R", or "W.W.J.D" & don't realize that some people may not know W.T.F you mean!?

...you own multipule shirts that are bedazzled, along with a plethera of pants that have bedazzled back pockets! The kicker? You just so happen to be a man!

...you've held at least one clothing/jewlrey/Scentsy party at your house & guilt tripped your friends into coming!

...believes that drinking is a big "no-no", but you'll gladly pop a pain-pill if "you just need a break from it all!"

...if you have 2 or 3 kids BY the age of 25!

...when the only thing to ever get dressed up for is General Conference.

...the only time you see crowds of people in the streets in SLC is during General Conference.

...you've never gone skiing or snowboarding!

...your house looks like Tai Pan Trading at Christmas time.

SO...my AMAZINGLY TALENTED friend Danielle Hafen has started her own photography business on the side as her hobby*slash*part time, for fun, job.
I thought it would be fun to hire her for personal photo shoot, mainly so Brett could have some updated pictures of me for his desk at work.
Let me just tell you that I am so glad she really got serious about her passion, because Danielle is AMAZING! She takes the best photo's and I LOVE how she is a perfectionist and makes sure she gets "the money shot!" It was so much fun to walk around main street, waving at on lookers passing by...some even honking{can ya blame 'em!? JK}, and taking photo's of, well...ME!

This is just a sampling of her work, and I can't wait to see ALL of her finished product! She did such a great job and I am SO happy with the way they turned out!

Girls Night Out just for FUN!!!

I had the BRILLIANT idea to have Sambo hold a cup and make it look like I was drinking out of a gynormous straw! As you can clearly see our mission was a complete success...

The two twins of the night. And dispite popular belief, they did NOT plan their outfit - OR - hair color! Ha ha ha

And here we all are in our private tea room at Windy Sukiaki. The food was good, but I'm admit that I am still a loyal fan of Happy Sumo...especially when both places are about the same cost!

It had been about a month {ore less} since our last G.N.O so clearly it was about time for us to have another. Jessie P. wasn't able to come to the last G.N.O/Birthday party for Kridda so it was fun to see her again since it had been awhile. She's always good to have around because she, without fail, always has fun updates for us all!

JP chose the restuarant, Windy Sukiaki to go to which I had never been to before. She reserved our own private tea room for us. In a "tea room" you have to take off your shoes before you go in & then you sit on the floor, but there is a place under the table for you to slide your legs under. I was grateful that I thought to bring a pair of socks ;}

Our sushi was made in a New York minute and we were only there for about 25 minutes when realized we were done eating! We spent the next hour creating & taking our own custom "photo shoot". I took these pics from JP's blog, but believe me there are PLENTY more to be had. But we did all agree we would only post the pictures that were flattering. The rest of the pictures are for blackmail purposes only!!!

We thought a treat after dinner would be a perfect thing to do so we went to the Red Mango down the street from my house. I LOVE that place! Katrina told me about it and I've been hooked ever since. Thanks Katrina!

I got a small pomegranate frozen yogurt, but settled for blackberry's instead of my usual favorite raspberry's since they were OUT! Blasphamy...

JP wanted a "healthier" option so she went to Sonic and picked up for herself a good sized oreo shake. Haa ha ha

It was about 9:45 PM & we were all spent & running low on energy so that was our cue to call it a night! It was so much fun though to get together & try something new :D

This past week I have not been feeling well {NO its not Swine Flu and NO I'm not pregnant! Just simply not feeling well} Its been difficult to do things for myself, and only really have been good enough to lay on the sofa or in bed.

Brett has been SO good to me by taking care of EVERYTHING I haven't been able to do for myself. He helps me wash my hair, he put my socks on for me, makes his own lunch, does the laundry, offered to brush my hair for me, has been doing the dishes, and takes care of the grocery shopping, as well as taking care of whatever the kids need. Last night we were in bed and the temperature was too hot for me. Brett got out of bed, walked down stairs, and turned the AC down. Moments later I forgot something else downstairs and Brett got up from bed again, and got what I needed. He didn't huff and puff, or complain he just simply went & did it.
I have never had a relationship with anyone who has cared so much about ME and for my well being as much as he does.

I sent him a message today telling him how much I appreciate all that he has done and that when I'm back to feeling like myself that I need to get him something nice to show my appreciation for all he's done for me. He wrote me back and said, "just saying that {he's appreciated} is enough for him!" Wow... I have a long way to go to be as selfless as he is.

My mom LOVES Brett and always tells me how lucky I am to have someone like him, and that is so true. I feel so lucky to have someone who would do ANYTHING for me. I didn't realize till after marriage how uncommon it is to find a GOOD man who treats their wife with respect and shows them their love in various ways. So many times one or both partners in a marriage allow to feed their selfishness desires to over power & dominate their relationship. What a shame that is when that happens, and how heart breaking it is.

But I am SO lucky to have such a great man & I only wish that more men could treat their wives like Brett treats me.

I could not be more furious than I am right now about the "photo op" that was taken a couple of days ago in New York city with the President's plane Air Force One and two fighter jets following flying next to it.

NEVER once did anyone warn the people of New York that this photo op was going to take place, which caused a mass panic since this all took place near where the Twin Towers use to stand and was only 1,000 feet from the ground. IRRESPONSIBLE!

Obama and his hand selected cabinetry all CLAIM that they did not know of this taking place, even Homeland Security was "unaware" that Air Force One was on a photo op. These are nothing but LIES! President Obama knows when and where his plane is at simply because he needs to know when he can leave and when he can't. No one can simply take Air Force One on a joy ride in downtown New York and have NO ONE know about it! Ever heard of Traffic Control anyone? I'm sure they knew, and those pilots flying the fighter jets I'm sure knew....so WHO gave THEM the order?

"Pathetic Obama" has opened a TWO week investigation into the matter to figure out what happened. Two weeks! Really....it didn't even take him that long to get our Country financing for a TRILLION plus dollars that we will in the short future be paying for in outrageous tax increases, but yet it is going to take TWO WEEKS for an investigation to figure out how Air Force One was unknowingly "hijacked" to take some pretty pictures. THIS IS A JOKE!

THIS, people is the quailty job you get when you elect a Community Organizer to run the most powerful Country in the world!

Spring has sprung {at least I think, the weather hasn't made its mind up yet though} and with summer around the corner we are all thinking of our favorite swimsuit we want to look our best in. BUT are you still feeling the "laziness blue's syndrome"? Having a tough time peeling your butt cheeks off the couch, and un-clenching your white knuckled grip from the bag of chips? Its time to knock the dust off of you and start dropping those LBS all over. Lets pretend its January 1st shall we?

Well, here is some of my own advice that I put into constant practice. It works WONDERS for me to get my motivation going and keep me staying there.

I go SHOPPING!!!

Now this doesn't mean I go crazy buying tons of things {everytime ;} when I go shopping, but when I shop there is something about it that gives me a spark inside of more determination & motivation. Its like when I try on an amazing shirt, cute skirt, or pants it brings me back to reality, I get refocused & makes me realize how I really do want to fit in my clothing the best that I possibly can. Maybe thats why I love shopping so much??? Hmm...food for thought I suppose.

I hope this advice of mine helps you if your looking for something to help you out of your everyday rut! I know its sure has helped me!!!

So get shopping and feel good knowing that your doing your part to help out our economy!

The Bahama's are calling...

As a lot of you know by now, Brett and I are going on our first cruise this Fall to the white sand beaches of the Bahamas!!! Exciting business :}

It is our 5th year anniversary this coming June, so we're using that as our excuse to get away on our first ever cruise and also our first time, for us both to go to the Bahamas! I even get to get a passport for the first time! Exciting stuff, right?!

I've already purchased three swimming suits and two swimsuit cover ups for when I'm walking around the ship or the beach. One of my swimming suits is my first EVER bikini! I just ordered it last night, so I'll have to see how it looks. I definitely don't want to look like a sack of potatoes especially on a cruise to the Bahama's baby!

When we get to the Nassau island Brett has his heart set on either doing a beginner's scuba diving excursion, OR snorkeling. Neither of those sound like my cup of tea, but I'll do it still because he wants to and to also say that is something I tried! It should be a great time...

If anyone has ever gone a cruise to the Bahama's let me know how you liked it!
I'm counting down the MONTHS!!!!

My cool aunt and uncle - they let me stay with them in their room {with Lindsey too} for free. It was such a great time. Thanks you two!!!!

My cousin Angie got married in Vegas over the weekend. It was SUCH a good time! I went with my cousin Lindsey. Brett had to stay home to work and finish up our taxes, so it was sad not to have him there....however, I managed :) ha ha - just kidding.
Linds & I flew out Friday morning on Delta - once in Vegas we took a shuttle that was $6, but we almost got suckered into getting a town car that was a lot like a limo for $20 a pop! Thank goodness we were $1 short and clearly not enough cash for at tip. Only moments after we told the people in charge of a town car we were short money, we were on the shuttle headed to the Mirage. Unfortunately we got on the runaway taxi train and our driver had the mouth of a sailor! He thought he was funny, but was just plain obnoxious. He's lucky he got our $2 tip!

Our weekend consisted of lounging, playing, shopping, laying out by the pool, having breakfast outside, & also getting make over's at the MAC STORE at the Ceasar's palace. I bought my first pair of fake lashes, and it turned out amazing. And of course, my cousins wedding dinner Friday night and then her wedding Saturday evening at 9 PM.

Speaking of the wedding dinner, afterwards we were invited by the managers of the Restaurant to attend the Playboy Dance Club for free and have VIP enterance. We thought about it, but decided against it mainly because we were SO tired and not to mention FULL from our four course meal!

When we were laying out APPARENTLY Kevin James {Doug on "King of Queens"} and Adam Sandler walked RIGHT past where we were laying out. And of course our luck we didn't see them! Also while we were laying out I was given four VIP & free enterance tickets for me, Linds Amy & Angie to go to the "adult" pool called Bare at the Mirage. Its a topless pool aka the devils swimming pool! Should we take it as a compliment we were GIVEN passes? Ha ha ha :D

Angie & Mike's wedding was GORGEOUS and the Pastor who married them gave a beautiful speech. He memorized it all, which made it all feel more sincere and heart felt.

All in all it was a great trip home! Minus the MAJOR turbulance we hit on our way
out of Vegas....it was frightening!
I give it two thumbs up!!!!

Two Years Ago Today...

Two years ago today, Brett and I got sealed at the Salt Lake City Temple.
It took us THREE years to get a temple sealing clearance, so this day was something that was very extra special to us because like a lot of things in life, it did not come easy or quick for us to be able to have what we wanted.
It was a BEAUTIFUL sunny and surprisingly warm day. I didn't even need a jacket!

Below I am with my Grandma & Grandpa Willey after we had just gotten sealed. It was a BEAUTIFUL and sunny day. I would of loved having my Grandma & Grandpa Flanders, but they both passed away in 2005. I secretly carried a picture of them with me in the temple so that I could still have them apart of our special day.

Life in the married lane isn't necessarily easy - OR always a "gripping" ride, BUT it is rewarding when you work together as a team and finally reach the goals that you work SO hard for! This day was nothing short of a miracle - it was such a sweet experience to have all of our family and close friends there to support us.
So when/if things are challenging in your relationship reflect back to the basics and remember times like these in your life that have depth & meaning...these are the important things in life and love.

WHAT a fun day we had....

So we started our day out being with FIRST in line at Glenn Becks book signing. I got there at 10:40 and had to wait in line until he arrived around 12:15. While I was waiting & before Brett got there, the radio station I won VIP tickets from 570 KNRS requested me to take a picture and do a quick interview with Bob Lonsberry who is a local AM talk radio host. He was hilarious & so fun to meet!

The lady we asked to take our picture was HI-LAR-IOUS! She took about 4 different pictures of us all together cuz she wanted different backgrounds for our pictures.
Bob Lonsberry & I are laughing pretty hard in this picture because I had just cracked a joke and he found it to be pretty hilarious. Would you expect anything less from me?!!!

This is when Glenn first walked into the "VIP" room - he was losing his voice so he had to either talk really quiet OR talk in "Yoggie the bear's" voice like his voice coach told him to do.

This guy was first in line to speak with Glenn. He was seriously talking to him for like 5 minutes! As I was in line waiting {I was 2nd in line cuz I butted!}, Bob Lonsberry came up to me and asked "What is it like to be the most attractive woman in the room"? I'm not joking!
It was funny cuz I said "its a LOT of pressure cuz you've got to keep things cool & calm but I felt like I was doing a pretty good job". What else can I say, its always nice to meet a fan! JK! ;}

Here was my chance to have a one on one with Glenn.
He has such a warmth about him. He seems very humble & happy you are there to support him.

I got enough courage up in my little hear to tell Glen the following:
"Um...I wanted to tell you...I just want you to know I appreciate you waking me up."
{Meaning he has made me aware of important issues that are going on in our world & I'm trying to educate myself & others around me too}.
This was {obviously} when I was telling him all of this & SECONDS before Glenn gave me a hug. I was the only one he gave a hug to!

As many of you know I LOVE Glenn Beck! He is 3rd nation wide as a conservative talk show radio host. By listening to him for the past 3 years he has REALLY opened my eye's to what is going on in the world & how important it is to know what you believe in, cuz tough times are coming that will be challenging and we've got to know what we all stand for.

I won VIP tickets from entering a contest on 570 KNRS about a million times, which included me to be FIRST in line to his book signing {the line was all the way outside of the mall!}, a 30 minute meet and greet before his Christmas Sweater show, & FREE floor seats to the show for free!
We are sitting on row 17!!! What-What...

What a fun time it was to be able to hear him speak a few minutes before he started signing. He ask that we pray for his family, so I would ask all of you to do the same. He is a great man spreading the truth & its all something we need to be aware of in times like these!

So us girls decided to get together for dinner & to go see the Twilight movie.
Unfortunately Kridda's family was sick so she couldn't come. We missed you Kridda!

We went to dinner & had LOTS to talk about :) Thank you blog stalking!!!
Then we headed to the movie theater to watch the highly anticipated movie, Twilight.
Jessie P & I hadn't seen it yet, but this was Samantha's 3rd time!
From what JP & I had heard from others about the movie was:

1: Its really good!
2: The movie stays true to the book
3: There are "some" cheesy parts
4: Edward actually is hot when you see the movie

Lots to look forward to, right? That's what we thought too, but boy...were we in for a rude awakening!!!!

Let me just say that those who said there were "some" cheesy parts were being kind! To be realistic for those who haven't seen the movie yet, the WHOLE movie
was 99% cheese!!!

You know the kinds of giggles/rolling laughter you get on RARE occasions when you HAVE to be quiet??? Like when someone is saying a prayer, or singing in public but is really, really bad & you want to just laugh as hard as you can but you just can't! THAT is what I experienced for over 2 hours. I was shaking in my seat from laughing that hard!

JP & I LOST it when Bella walked into Chemistry class & Edward picked up her scent. I was attempting, but miserably failing to hold in spontaneous laughter while Edward "attempted" to act his little heart out, but miserably failed as well!
I leaned over to Jessie P. during the movie and asked if we were watching the same movie everyone else had been saying was "so good".

Regardless, I would still recommend people going to see this show {to the matinee of course for cheaper tickets} for simply to get a good laugh. Make sure you take friends with you who will also see the humor in it, because really...it makes it that much funnier & easier to endure.

What is my final review of the movie you ask?

1: Twilight was really funny, compliments to the HORRIBLE acting "skills"
2: The movie did stay very true to the book...but the book was MUCH better!
3: The ENTIRE movie is totally cheesy
4: Edward, to me, is still dog ugly!

Thanks girls for a fun evening! I would do it all over again in a heart beat :D

#1: Whether he's just showered, going out, or even simply heading to bed Brett sprays at least TWO DIFFERENT types of cologne on. Surprisingly no matter the combo, he always smells really good!

#2: Brett puts spray and/or spreadable "I Cant Believe Its Not Butter' on EVERYTHING! {Even on PB&J sandwiches...}

#3: Almost everytime we are at the movie theater he will ask me if he can get popcorn {so cute!} - one of my favorite quirks!

#4: When checking out at the grocery store Brett does not like anyone unloading the cart but him. WHY you ask? Cuz he wants the cashier to bag certain items together in the same grocery sack.

#5: Whenever I lay on his lap, he HAS to twirl my hair thru his fingers. He says that it "relaxes" him :} So sweet!

#6: The night before he travels either for work or for fun he can't sleep because he's too anxious.

#7: Brett has "his" spot on the couch. If I'm sitting in his spot this is typically how it goes. A) I'm semi-sweetly asked to re-locate. IF I refuse his request than I am B) either tickled, jiggled, or simply physically lifted & removed & therefore forced to re-locate.
{Exception to this is he won't ask me to move if he knows I'm sick - OR - really, really tired!}

One Crucial Week & Counting...

Man...today I am down right bummed.

Elections are in one week & we will officially have a new President.

When I hear of people who is supporting Obama that I know, I literally throw my hands up in the air. I ask them "WHY" are they supporting him and every single one of them cannot give me one good reason. Its because the person they are supporting, Obama they have nothing strong to say about him as to why they are giving him their support, or even worse....their vote!

I truly believe that those who are supporting Obama unfortunately are simply uneducated. This does not mean that they are "stupid" by any means, but sadly entirely unaware of what he stands for and what his Presidential policies are.

American's have lost touch with who we use to be. Hard workers, make your OWN way in the world, capitalism, & true freedom that does not encourage bigger government.

If this is not the case, if we haven't fallen away from our nations traditions & characteristics then HOW is it that Obama is potentially our next President?!?!?

It brings rolling tears to my eye's just thinking of how Obama said on a radio interview back in 2001 that "our Constitution has fundemental flaws; not politically but economically".

How can a man who believes that YOUR wealth & MY wealth should be re-distrubted amongst those who have not worked as hard as us to earn our lifestyles, whatever that lifestly may be.

I, personally do not deserve to live the lifestlye of Bill Gates BECAUSE I have not accomplished all of the things he has! SO...why should I feel as though I am entitled to his type of lifestyle when I haven't EARNED it!?!?!?

What an INSULT for Obama to say, & even worse to actually believe that HIS policies are "better" than what our Founding Fathers, who were truly inspired by God himself, to create guidelines and ways for this great nation to be ruled by!

Some are not aware that Obama has closely on his advisory board one of the top guys from Fannie May advising Obama on the housing market! In case some of you have been living under a ROCK, Fannie May just got a $700 BILLION (+ antoher $495 Billion + another $500 BILLION) bail out! And who (Fannie May) in the first week after the bail out was approved took a LAVISH $500,000 trip to an exclusive resort! THIS is who is advising Obama on our housing market...a company that just went severly bankrupt!

These are only a few reasons why it is so upsetting to me that people are serious about supporting this non-patriotic man who wouldn't even wear a flag pin on his blazer, because he didn't want to offend those nations who do not like America! This is a joke, right?

I've heard in the past that our Constitution will be hanging by a thread". I'm not sure if that is doctrine, or prophecy, or just rumors? However I can absolutely see this happening especially now that Obama actually believes that our sacred Constitution is "fundamentally flawed"!!!!

Its time to VOTE! I did...

I am feeling very patriotic today because I voted, & did it early too! {How many karma points do you think I earned for that?!??! At least 15-20!}
This election to me, personally is PIVOTAL and I feel as though it will drastically take our country in one direction or another. And there's one way I KNOW I don't want it to go - it starts with an "O" and ends with "bama"!
I've realized by informing myself with listening religiously to the AM radio every time I'm in my car, or getting ready for the day how IMPORTANT it is for us to educate ourselves on what is going on in the world we live in!
We all are obligated to VOTE - it is our duty as citizens of the greatest country God has ever created! This is WHY so many people gave their lives up for that right, which truly is a right! There are countries where they can only dream of casting a vote to help decide their own future.

...What a beautiful gift we have all been given who live in America (legally, of course :}!)

We are down to our final day before heading out to Florida! Our first day we are going to Disney world - the Magic Kingdom park to be exact since it has the most rides!
After that we have kayaking, two different dolphin boat rides, going to the beach, museums, the Aquarium & more things along those lines planned.

As we are...Infertile & STILL happy!

So its no surprise to many who are close to us, that Brett and I are reproductively incompatible. Somehow he and I, two infertile people found each other in the midst of millions & millions of people! Ha ha ha...
About a year ago we spent a pretty big chunk of 100% hard earned money for Brett to under go a surgery so we could have kids naturally. AND...whadda know in mid-2008 "things" closed back up and here he & I are again back at square one. (P.s. Brett has two kids, Kiera & Josh - he was 22 & 23 years old when they were born - he was still a boy himself!)

If you are infertile or ever have been you know the emotional roller coaster ride which is almost impossible to avoid. It can be especially difficult for us "infertiles" at my age (24 1/2) because its about that time in friends, family & strangers lives where they start getting pregnant as quickly as the rabbits are reproducing next door...literally!

REGARDLESS of this fact, I have FINALLY come to a point in our infertile lives where I can finally laugh and enjoy life again. I'm at a point, personally where not every thought of every day is consumed with how am I ever going to get pregnant?!?! I can start joking with friends & family with the new nickname I've given Brett & I which is "The Infertiles"...sort of like "The Incredibles" only our super hero power is NOT being able to create life! Not everyone can do that now can they!

All joking aside, I feel I've been VERY blessed and grateful for the times when someone who does become pregnant, I am able to sincerely be happy for their little bundle of joy! It doesn't sadden me & I realize that (even though this is small to some), it is a blessing to me to be happy for others for something that doesn't come easy and definitely not cheap for my husband & I.

Next year we have decided to do IVF (invitro fertilization) which is BIG BUCKS insurance not included!! Its also pretty intimidating to me since it requires the woman to be on SO many medications/hormones. IVF for woman is very intrusive. But whatever we need to do in order to have a child of our own works for me, because that is one part of our lives together that I don't want to go without experiencing!

Its on every Tuesday night at 7:00 PM - if you need some additional motivation to get your butt off of the couch & improve yourself this is a great way to get started!

Where to begin with our story?!?! Danielle & I have known each other ever since the first day of our 7th grade year and instantly became best friends. We lost contact after High School but then re-connected at a friends wedding reception and also when I found her blog thanks to my blog stalking skills. I'm so glad we are back in touch again - she is one of the funniest people I know! We sat and talked for 3 hours and the time just flew - I couldn't believe it!

Danielle is getting married to Danny Haffen on Sept. 26th so we got together for our own mini "Bridal shower" part-aaay! It was so much & I got her a hilarious book of helpful tips ;) & gorgeous slip/lingere thingy from Victoria Secret.

Here are two out of my three bestest of best friends from school. We all went to our 5th year High school reunion at Barnes Park in Kaysville. It turned out to be the lamest thing we could have ever willingly volunteered to go to! Afterwards us girly's went to Tepenyaki for sushi. Now that is when the fun began!

This is one of the last pictures taken of Brett before he went "under the knife" at the International Center for Vasectomy Reversals in Arizona. Thankfully his surgery was a success! We definitely received a miracle on October 18th! Dr. Sheldon Marks was amazed with the great results and said we should have no problem, for what he can tell, in getting pregnant!!! Wooo Hooo!

When we were waiting for our next flight out of the Los Angeles airport, we saw Brooke Holgan! (Hulk Hogan's daughter!) It was cool. I called Katrina, Jessie P., and Lindsey and told them all about it. Brooke went to a bar that was right behind us, and the girls all told me to get a picture with her. Unfortunately I was too chicken! But this one is good enough!

This is Brett & I kickin' it in the airplane on our way there. We watched the first and second season of 'The Office' on our laptop on the plane. Dwight, Jim & Michael are our favorite characters. We love that show!

This was our view in the airplane on our way to Arizona. I think here we are flying over Salt Lake City, UT. It was so pretty! Brett & I thought we were going to miss our flight because it took us an hour and a half to get thru traffic on I-15 at 8:00 AM. It was ridiculous!

This is one of my best friends, Katrina, she is also my boss too. It's the best! Katrina is now about 4 months pregnant, and she is going to be having a little girly - it is their first baby! Their baby will be soooo cute :)
